Dr. Maureen Kersting

Veterinarian / Cat Friendly Veterinarian

Dr. Kersting was raised on a farm in rural southern Illinois. She received her BS in Animal Bioscience with Honors in Veterinary Medicine from Pennsylvania State University, and graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.

During veterinary school, Dr. Kersting was fortunate enough to have two feline medicine-exclusive externships. The second of these was with Dr. Kirnos in Philadelphia. After practicing veterinary medicine for a year each in Houston and Dallas, Dr. Kersting and her family moved to Bryn Mawr in 2010. She joined Dr. Kirnos at a cat-only hospital, and is thrilled to rejoin her in Dr. Kirnos’ Cat Hospital of Media. Dr. Kersting has always believed that feline medicine is fascinating, and cats deserve a practitioner who understands their temperament and unique medical needs.

Dr. Kersting is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. She enjoys regularly attending continuing education meetings and believes in continually learning about medicine to continually improve her patients’ lives.
Dr. Kersting, her husband, and their two children can often be found enjoying Pennsylvania’s natural wonders. They are also active in the German community in the Philadelphia suburbs and frequently travel to Germany. They’d like to bring their brown tabby cat, Max, along on their outdoor adventures, but he’s too busy sleeping in their linen closet on the freshly washed sheets.
